Our Roots...
The family name Lanzarotta is well grounded in its roots to the produce industry. Dating back to the 1950s when the family began migrating to the Toronto area from Termini-Imerese (Sicily), it all began with a small store on Queen street West. The foundation for the business was laid with Andréa "Henry" Lanzarotta, father of the two brothers. Enzo and Ignazio grew up with a passion for the business. Over the years the family has managed 7 different locations ranging from Toronto to Mississauga to Oakville. Over time, they had eventually crossed over to the processing side and successfully applied years of direct customer experience to the food manufacturing sector. With such high regard for consumer satisfaction, all in-house processing is tailored to the individualized needs of our customers at both food service and retail levels.
Corporate Responsibility...
The Produce Counter holds great honor in giving back to the community by regularly contributing to local charities and sponsorship programs including (but not limited to): SickKids Hospital Foundation, the MS Society of Canada, various children's sport sponsorship programs, and more!
We, at the Produce Counter, understand the value of consumer relations and hope to succeed on a broader social scale. We hope to grow the business through direct relationships with our customers and encourage an on-going dialogue to ensure consistent satisfaction. No one is too small!
"Ever since I came to Canada [years ago], it is all I have ever done[.] I love my business and I have worked hard at it. It is my life" - Andréa "Henry" Lanzarotta (1983)
"With such a tight-knit, family-oriented business, our goal is to work alongside our consumers to promote versatility and innovation in the produce industry; we have come a long way since putting an apple on a shelf!"
